For first time in Bangladesh technology training provider the Creative IT placed some 16 disables trainees in jobs respective after completing the respective training courses.
Information and Communication Technology division secretary Shaym Shundar Sikder handed over the appointment letters as chief guest to the 16 physically disabled trainees at an event in Dhanmondi in the capital on Wednesday. The ICT Division Secretary mentioned this initiative as a special milestone for the country.
The speakers said that,” There are some 20 lakh people in the country are physically disabled according the statistic of 2011. Most of them face social odds different times for lacking of social respect for the community. The Creative IT has been working to empower the marginalized community providing technology literacy.
As a regular initiative, the organization have trained some 20 disabled in speaking and hearing young people in graphic design with the technical support from Asian Development Bank this year. Some 16 of 20 trainees get job in professional outsourcing with international job markets.
Bangladesh Bank’s Deputy Director General Swapan Kumer Roy, Kaliakoir Hi-tech Park Project Director ANM Safikul Islam, CSID Executive Director Khandokar Jahurul Alam, Creative IT Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Monir Hossen attended the ceremony among others.
Creative IT have implemented the initiative in association with ICD Division of Ministry of Post Telecom and Communication Technology, Support to Development of Kaliakoir Hitech Park project, Bangladesh Computer Council and Centre for Service and Development (CSID).
Earliar in Januaty this year, some 32 disabled people got jobs in 5 leading technology companies in the country in a joint initiative of BCC and CSID at programme titled “respective livelihood and jobs for disabled. Creative IT placed jobs for 10 disabled then.
