The first ever Food Festival organized by Bangladesh Embassy featuring authentic Bangladeshi cuisine is underway at prestigious Sedona Hotel, Yangon from 15-19 May to introduce culinary heritage of Bangladesh as part of the initiative to connect with Myanmar people.
Union Deputy Minister, Ministry of Culture U Than Swe formally inaugurated the festival on 15 May.
A host of dignitaries participated in the inauguration, including several Ministers of Yangon Region diplomatic communities, local elites, media and Bangladesh community representatives, which was followed by a dinner.
Bangladesh Ambassador to Myanmar Sufiur Rahamn addressed the opening ceremony.
A live music rendition of Tagore and Nazrul songs were also performed by local Bangladeshi singers during the dinner to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of two great writers and thinkers of Bangla literature noble laureate Rabindranath Tagore and rebel Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam who dominate BangIa literature.
