HCI Celebrating ITEC and ICCR Day. The High Commission of India will celebrate the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) and Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) Day on 14 October 2015 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre, Dhaka.
Mr Tofail Ahmed, Hon’ble Minister of Commerce, Government of Bangladesh will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest at which the High Commissioner of India Shri Pankaj Saran will also be present. ITEC and ICCR alumni along with members of the Youth Delegations that have visited India are expected to attend the programme.
The ITEC Programme was instituted on 15 September 1964 as part of India’s Development Assistance Programme within the framework of the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation and South-South cooperative strategy, offering developing countries the benefit of India’s development experience and appropriate technologies. Bangladesh is one of India’s principal ITEC partners.
Under the ICCR Scholarship Programmes, several Bangladeshi students have studied in India at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels.
