Academic experts and scholars viewed that the vision of the new generation graduates should be directed to fulfill the demand of the society by utilizing efficiency, expertise and professionalism developed excellent grooming process.They stressed on human resource development through advanced knowledge, information technology and innovative practices being the panacea to strengthen the foundation of a society leading to socio-economic transformation, growth and development.
Speaking at the 66th orientation of new students of International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) of Summer Semester 2014 on Saturday at the campus, academicians said the focal point of modern higher education is mostly demand based in accordance with latest modules of curricula and methodology. Excellent teaching guidance and better grooming is very critical for required professional development necessary to move ahead with global changes. They, however, felt that all development has to accompany patriotism based on home based cultural roots to meet the challenges at home and abroad.
Began with the Telwat-e- Quran and National Anthem the program was attended by Dr. Dale ZoBell, Visiting Professor from USA as special guest along with Chairs, Directors, Faculties of the respective Colleges and Departments and jubilant fresh students joined with enthusiasm and exuberance.
Presiding the program Prof. Dr M Alimullah Miyan, Founder and Vice Chancellor of IUBAT underscored the need of massive manpower development to ensure quality assurance in higher education required for facilitating the socio-economic growth and development. IUBAT has been endeavoring galvanize all efforts to produce a new generation graduates with greater efficiency, expertise based on IT and vision : to fulfill the needs of the society in line with global changes. Stressing on conceptual change he called upon the freshmen ‘to grow like flowers’ extracting all facilities provided by the university within an excellent academic environment. The support of different labs and modern library facility accompanied by research, publication and consultancy services comprehensively help students to develop insight, perception and critical observation necessary to stand in the ocean of knowledge facing global competition, he visualized.
US scholar Dr. Dale ZoBell, speaking as special guest appreciating the academic excellence of IUBAT said education is extremely important to embrace with global community across the world. Human being has to live a life of association guided life to enjoy the real essence of life, he asserted calling upon the new students to build better career by exploiting the excellent facilities of IUBAT.
Orientation of new students of the College of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Department of Economics, College of Nursing, College of Agricultural Sciences was held in the morning, Department of Civil Engineering, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering and Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering under College of Engineering and Technology held the program at the afternoon. The College of Business Administration arranged orientation in the evening on the same day followed by cultural gala.
Orientation is an enthusiastic event for awareness building for the new freshmen who enters in higher academic arena. It is the gateway for future where students advised to become self-confident, flexible working force and to adjust with rapidly changing socio-economic environment.
IUBAT has developed a network of academic collaborations with the universities including institution and scholarly bodies of Europe, America Canada, Australia, Asia and Africa. The students can easily transfer their credit to those universities.
