Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) in association with Asian Paints, IRCON and Marico Bangladesh is organising a Musical Evening by promising Bangladeshi artist, Mrs. Jannatul Ferdous Tumpa at 6:30 PM on June 7, 2014 at the IGCC, House No. 35, Road No. 24, Gulshan-1, Dhaka.
Born in 1979, Mrs. Jannatul Ferdous Tumpa got inspiration in music from her parents, especially from her father. She has completed her Bachelor and Masters in music both from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Gujarat. In 1994 she has achieved first position in classical music from Shilpakala Academy, Dhaka. She has also done 4 years course in classical music from Chittagong Shilpakala Academy.
A Talented singer, Mrs. Tumpa has performed in different countries like the U.S.A, Canada, India, Pakistan, South Africa, U.K. etc. She regularly performs in several stage shows.
Mrs. Tumpa has released two Gujarati mixed albums “Garbas” in 2002 and “Sugam Sangeet” in 2003 during her stay in Baroda. She is a versatile singer and her genre of music includes Hindi old songs and Ghazals. Recently she has released a music video composed by Bappa Majumder, an eminent artist of Bangladesh. She is currently working at Chittagong Grammer School, Chittagong.
