The Consulate General of Bangladesh in New York observed the historic Mujib Nagar Day 17 April in a befitting manner. The day’s Programme included, among others, hoisting of the national flag at the Chancery and holding of a discussion meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Consul General Md. Shameem Ahsan touched on the significance of the Mujib Nagar Government which spearheaded the independence and statehood of the country. He also paid deep tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and national four leaders.
The Consul General added that the Mujib Nagar Government played a critical role to win international support, counter negative propaganda of the Pakistani regime and to provide succour to the Bangalee refugees.
