To add to last year’s success, Shetu organized another event- “Pitch2win” for the new and upcoming entrepreneurs of our country. The grand finale of this competition was held on June 12, 2014 at HubDhaka in Mirpur. 10 teams pitched on the final day of the event. Team EmfixR led by Dan J Mustafa from Dhaka district secured the first prize and won 50000 BDT of seed money.
Pitch2win is this unique contest intended to draw out the brightest minds and greatest ideas our country has to offer. In this event, participants got a chance to pitch their ideas and got feedback on how to improve their pitching style.Hugely successful last year, this year’s competition packed a punch with its intensive pitching mentorship sessions or “Pitch Clinic’s.
In this regard the CEO of Shetu, Mr. Sajid Islam said, “The Entrepreneurs of Bangladesh are very talented, and recently they have positioned themselves very strongly in the freelance industry and brought our country pride. Via this competition we are trying to strengthen their elevator pitch skill and if that helps them, it’s a success for us.”
The Chief Guest of this event was Adrianna Tan, Vice President of Silicon Straits, Singapore who was also one of the judges accompanied by Sajid Islam, CEO of Shetu and Hubdhaka and Nash Islam, CEO of GnR Ad Network.
According to Adrianna, “The Bangladeshi Entrepreneurs are very hard working and skilled, I am very glad to meet them here.”
Shetu is working hard trying to develop a Sustainable startup ecosystem in Bangladesh. Beginning from 2013 Shetu has organized many entrepreneurial competitions such as Pitch2Win 2013, Code2Win, Startup Bash and Startup Weekend 2014.
