President & PM Condemns Attack in a Saudi Mosque

​President Md Abdul Hamid has expressed deep shock and dismay at the suicide bomb attack at a mosque in Saudi Arabia.

​The President at a message sent to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud today condemned the attack. The full text of the message is given below:

​”It is a matter of great sorrow and dismay to learn about the tragic death of 21 innocent people and the injury of another 100 people by a suicide bomb attack during prayers at a mosque in Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. I strongly condemn the cowardly and heinous terrorist attack. We pray to Almighty Allah that He gives our Saudi brethren the courage and strength to bear the irreparable losses. We express our deep condolences to the family members of the victims.

​I take this opportunity to reiterate that Bangladesh denounces terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and reaffirm that Bangladesh would continue to work together with the world community to fight against terrorism.

​I wish you good health, long life and happiness, and the brotherly people of Saudi Arabia continued peace, progress and prosperity.”

On the other hand ​Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has also expressed deep shock and dismay at the suicide bomb attack at a mosque in Saudi Arabia.

​The Prime Minister at a message sent to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud today condemned the attack. The full text of the message is given below:

​”I am extremely shocked to learn about the heinous bomb attack in a mosque of Qatif in Eastern Province of the Kingdom which has resulted in the death of twenty one and caused injury to another 100 people. While praying for eternal peace for the brothers who lost their lives and for early recovery of those who were wounded, the people of Bangladesh join me to strongly condemn the cowardly and inhuman attack. I express my deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to your Majesty, the family members of the victims as well as all the Saudi brethren for this sad incident. I also pray to Almighty Allah that He gives them courage and strength to face the crisis.

​At this point, I would like to stress that any terrorist activity, no matter who does it and for what purpose, is a blow to the peace, humanity and all religious values. I take this opportunity to reiterate that Bangladesh denounces terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and reaffirm that our Government has been following and will follow a “zero tolerance” policy towards terrorism. I express my Government’s determination to continue to work together with Saudi Arabia and the world community to fight against terrorism.

​I wish you good health, long life and happiness, and the brotherly people of Saudi Arabia continued peace, progress and prosperity.”
