The outcome of the meeting today was not too bad. The Health Ministry allowed one more month to make it 10 (ten) for implementing the pictorial health warning labels on tobacco packets.
The leaders of the printing press owners association attended the meeting a demanded at least 14 months, but finally only one additional month was accommodated to resolve the issue.
Apparently there is no more formality left for finalizing the Rules now. So, kindly keep you pressure on the Health Ministry and ask them consistently how quick the gazette notification of the Rules is going to be published.
I’m sure the industry and the printers association will continue their lobbying inside, so please watch it closely.
