Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad observed today the Historic 7th March at the Chancery complex. Programme of the event include a discussion programme and show of a documentary on Bangabandhu’s 7th March historic speech.
The programme of the day started at 1000 hrs. Officers and officials of the High Commission attended the programme. The message received from Prime Minister was read out at the outset of the programme.
The High Commissioner Suhrab Hossain, in his speech, paid a profound tribute to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu for his contribution in our independence and explained the significance of the day. He focused the role of the Historic 7th March in our national history and shared his experiences on those historic days of 1971 with the audience.
Suhrab Hossain further explained how Bangabandhu’s historic 7th March speech shaped the course our liberation movement on the following days. He also urged all concerned to uphold the spirit of the day and work united to realize the economic and political emancipation of the country. A documentary on the historic speech was shown.
