A fire broke out last night (around 10 pm on 12 May) at a furniture factory in Riyadh where a number of South Asian nationals including Bangladesh nationals were working. It has been confirmed that among 11 deceased due to fire, 09 were Bangladesh nationals, mostly hailed from Comilla.
Two (02) were Indian nationals.This was confirmed by Second Secretary (Labour) Mizanur Rahman at the Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh. Embassy officials visited the accident site as well as hospital. Identity of the deceased and injured ones are being carried out and a detailed report would be sent by the Bangladesh Mission in Riyadh soon.
