Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) in association with Asian Paints, IRCON and Marico Bangladesh is organizing A Musical Evening by “The Shubh Saran Presentation”at 6:30 PM on June 14, 2014 at the IGCC, House No. 35, Road No. 24, Gulshan-1, Dhaka.
The Shubh Saran Presentation is a contemporary jazz, funk, neo soul, and fusion project led by guitarist and composer, Shubh Saran. The other members of the group, who are among Delhi’s most prominent musicians, are Mr. Rohit Gupta, Pianist; Mr. Pranoy Praveen Drummer and Mr. Jayant Manchanda, Bass Guitarist. The group performs original pieces as well as unique arrangements of well-known tunes.
Mr. Shubh Saran is a Guitarist, composer and music educator who has performed in over five countries around the world including USA, Canada, India, Bangladesh, and Vietnam. A graduate of the Berklee College of Music and a recipient of the Berklee Achievement Scholarship, Mr. Saran have honed his skills as a versatile guitarist blending jazz, neo-soul, blues, and Indian music. In India, he has performed alongside some of the most famous names in the music industry including Clinton Cerejo, Adil and Vasundhara, Vasuda Sharma, as well as members of Advaita and Parikrama.
Mr. Rohit Gupta started playing the piano at the age of 14. He honed his skills by listening to Indian classical music, playing with a Fusion Ensemble in high school and by performing at various festivals, musicals and other events in Delhi. Currently, he is one of the youngest pianists/keyboard players who perform with some of the leading bands in Delhi.
Mr. Pranoy Praveen started playing and touring at the age of 10 and by the age of 12, he had already performed in almost 150 shows around India. His great passion for drums led him to play with Oscar and Grammy winning musician, Dr. A. R. Rahman at the age of 17. He has performed music for advertisements, led by Dinesh Subashing with renowned Indian musician John Anthony.
Mr. Jayant Manchanda is a bass player, composer and music educator. He has been a part of a number of Delhi-based acts including Adil and Vasundhara, Soul Samvad, Suhail Yusuf Khan, Ditty and Mark etc. He shared the stage with lgor Bezget from Slovenia as a part of his trio and has also been a part of New York based drummer/composer, Karina Colis’s quartet.
