Online Media will be the Vital Medium for Business Development. The state minister of the Ministry of Foreign affairs Mr. Shahriar Alam said, Online Media is playing a vital role for building Digital Bangladesh. But the careless behaviour in the name of online journalism and uncontrolled growth of unknown online medias are the main challenge in this sector. This issue needs to be controlled. He also mentioned that online media can help to develop business worldwide.

On Sunday at IDEB in Kakrail he said this on a seminar named ‘Online Media for Business Growth’ being the chief guest.

This seminar was held in the occasion of the 6th anniversary of Bangladesh Business Journalist Society (BBJS). The president of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) and Director of FBCCI Shameem Ahsan was the special guest.

Shameem Ahsan said, Online Medias have been capturing the place of printed newspapers due to the growth of smart devices and internet. That’s why; the world famous brands and companies are spending nearly 40% of their marketing cost via online marketing. In Bangladesh, multinational companies are also spending 30%-35% in this regard. It is sure that very soon due to the growth of online media; printed newspapers, usual billboards will lag behind competing with this new media. So online media will be the vital medium for the business development.

BASIS member company was awarded for its special contribution towards the development of e-commerce in Bangladesh. The Director (Strategy and Planning) of the company Syeda Kamrun Ahmed received the award from the chief guest. Besides, total 25 companies including CTO Forum, Ericsson Bangladesh, CSL Software, National Housing, Finance and Investment were awarded prizes due to their contribution in different sectors.

The president of BBJS Rashidul Hasan Bulbul presided over the seminar. Legendary Freedom Fighter Mustaq Ahmed Robi, MP; IT specialist Mustafa Jabbar; renowned lawyer Barrister Belal Hossain Joy and president of the Bangladesh Awami Freedom Fighters League Sheikh Ahmed Hossain Mirza were also present in the seminar. Opening speech was delivered by Mahmudul Hoque Khan Dulal.
