This is to cordially request the presence of your local media representatives at the inauguration of a photography exhibition at the Sylhet Nursing Council with a Focus on Midwifery Education.
Following the occasion of the recent International Day of the Midwife on May 5th 2014, the Director of the Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital (SOMCH), Brig Gen (Dr) Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, and the principal of the Nursing College, Mrs. Shilpi Chakra Borty, will jointly inaugurate a photography exhibition at the Sylhet Nursing College with a focus on Midwifery Education.
The selected photographs have been taken by the renowned Nepal-based American photographer Thomas Kelly in early 2014 and reflect scenes and images related to the topic of young families, childbirth and midwifery education in Bangladesh.
GIZ, the German Development Cooperation, provides technical assistance to the Nursing College of Sylhet by enhancing the implementation of the practical midwifery education with the support of an international midwife. The international expert supervises the midwifery instructors and will develop a mentorship concept with respect to efficient teaching of midwifery students in achieving their midwifery competencies.
