The Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN), Mr. Jan Eliasson, will be visiting the United Nations Organizations in Bonn on 12 November. During his visit he will lead talks with the Heads of the UN-agencies located in Germany. The UN in Bonn consists of 18 agencies and spans a vast area of work towards sustainable development worldwide. In a townhall meeting Mr. Eliasson will then address the approximately 1.000 UN staff members working in Bonn.
His visit to the United Nations Organizations in Bonn is part of his trip to Germany from 10 till 12 November and will be concluded by a visit to the Lord Mayor of Bonn, Juergen Nimptsch at the Old City Hall on 12 November. At this occasion Mr. Eliasson will also sign the guest book of the Federal City of Bonn. He will be accompanied by the Deputy Chair of the Heads of Agencies forum of the United Nations in Germany, Jakob Rhyner, Vice rector of the United Nations University.
