On Saturday, June 6, 2020, a training on Blockchain Technology was organized online by the “Innovation Design and Entrepreneurship Academy (iDEA) project” of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under the ICT Division.
The training started after the inauguration ceremony through video conferencing. The Senior Secretary of ICT Division Mr. N M Zeaul Alam PAA was present as the chief guest at the inaugural function of the training.
The Honorable Member of University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) Professor Dr. Md. Sazzad Hossain and the executive director of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) Mr. Parthapratim Deb were the special guests of the program.
The Senior Secretary of ICT Division Mr. N M ZeaulAlam PAA was present as the Chief Guest at the inaugural function of the training. He exchanged experiences on different achievements of ICT division and blockchain technology.
He said blockchain is an important technology that needs to be used properly. There is considerable interest among our youth on Frontier technology.
The ICT division is working as a ‘front line soldier’ using Frontier technology. But, in this case, we need trained manpower the most. He also expressed the view that blockchain technology would further improve the overall management of the country as well as ensure transparency.
As a special guest, the Honorable Member of University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) Professor Dr. Md. Sazzad Hossain said that because of Corona we are now in a difficult and unexplainable time. We need to ensure transparency and accountability during this epidemic.
This blockchain technology can ensure transparency. So it needs to be used properly. There is no alternative to education and research. At this time, everyone should keep their morale strong. We all need to pay special attention to science and technology, research, and ICT skills. Together we must take the country towards a possibility.
The executive director of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) Mr. Parthapratim Deb thanked all those who helped make the event a success.
As a special guest, he said that we want to create an innovative environment through which it will be possible to create an entrepreneurial culture. We will continue trying to give everyone an idea about the prevalence of Frontier technology in the world.
The online program was presided over by the project director (Additional Secretary) of the iDEA Project Syed Mojibul Huq. He said that without Frontier technology, it willbe challenging to make decisions for different activities in the future.
If we want to take up digital marketing or any other activity, we must take the help of Frontier Technology. That means blockchain technology is a very important necessary medium. He thinks that if we cannot teach Frontier Technology to our present generation, we will have to fall behind during the 4th Industrial Revolution.
Ph.D. Research fellow of Graduate School of Simulation Studies of University of Hyogo of Japan Mr. RubaiyatIslam, the associate professor at Institute of Information Technology (IIT) of the University of Dhaka Mr. B. M. MainulHossain and Blockchain researcher and the Managing Director of The Computers Ltd (TCL) and Chief Consultant of AtiqueRabbani (Financial and ICT) Consulting Mr. KhondkarAtique -e- Rabbani were the trainer of this initiative and also shared their experiences with trainees. Through this training, the basics and Evolution of Blockchain Technology, Blockchain for Supply Chain Management, and Understanding Blockchain Technology were the topics of the training. More than 60 trainees from the Barisal region joined the training through the online platform Zoom.
Regional Director of Barisal Division of the BCC Md. Monirul Islam, the Deputy Project Director (Deputy Secretary) of iDEA Project Kazi Hosna Ara, the project’s senior consultant R. H. M. Alaol Kabir , the technology Management Specialist of the project Mehedi Hasan Bhuiyan, Consultant of iDEA Project Monirul Islam, Shohag Chandra Das, teachers from Barisal University of Science and Technology and Patuakhali Science and Technology University, BCC and other officials of ICT division were present online at the time.
