Daffodil International University, DCCI ink for supporting Skills development. Daffodil International University (DIU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) to work jointly for skill development. Professor Dr. S M Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder, Acting Vice-Chancellor of DIU and Mr. Shams Mahmud, President of DCCI signed the document on behalf of their respective organizations held at the university’s 71 Milonayotontoday on Monday (December 26, 2020).
Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Founder and Chairman, Board of Trustees, Mr. Mohammad Mominul Haque Majumder. Treasurer, Professor Dr. Engineer AKM Fazlul Haque, Registrar of DIU Dr. Mohammad Masum Iqbal, Dean, Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship, Mr. Afsarul Arifeen, Secretary Deneral ( Acting),Former Director Rezwan Rahman Md. Jounal Abdin, Secretary of DCCI were also present at the program. Faculty of Business & Entrepreneurship of DIU organized the program.
According to the agreement, the two organizations will jointly organize various business meetings, seminars, conferences, trainings, workshops, job fairs, research activities, surveys, short courses, etc. ThisMou will bring benefit for both organizations. Daffodil International University will share 10 percent of the course fees for the certificate courses conducted by DCCI. On the other hand, DCCI will share 10 percent of the course fee for the certificate courses conducted by Daffodil University. Daffodil University will also provide course materials, instructors, venues, classrooms etc.
While addressing on the program Dr. Md. Sabur Khan said that the agreement will create a linkage between industry and academia. In this way students will be able to learn something practically which is not possible to learn in classroom. He commented that universities should do more such agreements with other industries.
On the other hand, Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Shams Mahmud said, the agreement would be a milestone. This will greatly increase the scope of business research. DCCI staff will also learn a lot about the use of information technology and e-learning from Daffodil University.
