At the Rangpur divisional level, a four-day “Startup Incubation Program” was launched by the Innovation Design and Entrepreneurship Academy (iDEA) project of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under the ICT Division. The program, which started on March 27, will continue till March 30, 2021, at the RCCI Auditorium of the Rangpur Chamber of Commerce & Industry (RCCI) building. As a result of this incubation program, 60 young entrepreneurs from 30 selected startups of the Rangpur Division got the opportunity to participate in this free mentoring program. The inaugural ceremony of the “Startup Incubation Program” was held today, March 27, 2021, at the Rangpur Divisional level, maintaining proper social distance and following the rules of hygiene for the Corona situation. At the same time, the inauguration of the activities of “Startup Rangpur” was also held through this program.
The Director (Joint Secretary), Local Government of Rangpur Mr. Md. Ibrahim Khan and The Rangpur Chamber of Commerce & Industry (RCCI) president Mostofa Sohrab Chowdhury Titugraced the occasion as special guests. The iDEA Project Director (Former) and Additional Secretary Syed Mojibul Huq delivered precious speeches for the entrepreneurs by connecting through online video conferencing, as the special guest of the program. Mst. Shahnaj Begum, ADC (Education and ICT), Rangpur presided over the function. The iDEA Project Senior Consultant R. H. M. Alaol Kabir gave a welcome speech on the program online.
Today, National entrepreneurs are making one of the major contributions to the transformation of Bangladesh from a least developed country to a developing country. Through their effort and new innovations, the country is moving forward at a breakneck pace. Even with the proper use of ICT, entrepreneurs in the country have maintained their economic status online in the corona situation, which is really commendable. The guests of the event especially thanked the young entrepreneurs for participating in this kind of mentoring program. Everyone, including the organizers, believes that such an event will play a very important role in shaping the startup ecosystem in Rangpur Division.
The incubation is being organized in collaboration with “Rangpur Startup” and Rangpur District Administration. The training partner of the incubation program is “Better Stories” and the event is being implemented by the Management and Training International Limited (MTI LTD). The team of MTI Ltd. and “Rangpur Startup” is working tirelessly to maintain adequate social distance in the Corona situation and to take adequate measures to complete the organization of the Startup Incubation Program in compliance with hygiene norms.
After the inaugural program, on the first day of the mentoring program, there will be multiple important topics for the entrepreneurs including design challenges, pitch decks, ways to solve several problems related to startups. On the 2nd day of the Startup Incubation Program, entrepreneurs will be provided mentoring on different issues including market size and segment of startups, revenue projection, revenue model, implementation plan, mission and vision, team formation, competition, etc. On the 3rd day of the event, there will be pitch practice, pitch refinement, demo-day-style of pitching and on the 4th day, the 4-day event will conclude for Rangpur Division.
