Dhaka (19 February), Bangladesh – The two day ( September 25-26) “DIU Pharma Career Expo-2023 & World Pharmacists Day Celebration” has begun today on September 25, 2023 at Knowledge Bhaban of Daffodil International University at Daffodil Smart City, Birulia , Savar organized by the Department of Pharmacy of the university. The two-day event brought together students, academics, and professionals from the pharmaceutical industry to share their knowledge, expertise, and research. The festival aimed to provide a platform for students and professionals to exchange ideas and insights about the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry.

During the opening ceremony, the Acting Vice-Chancellor of DIU, Professor Dr. S M. Mahabub Ul Haque Majumder highlighted the importance of the pharmaceutical industry and the role of DIU in preparing students to meet the demands of the industry. Major General Mustafizur Rahman, Chief Executive Officer of Bangladesh Association of Pharmaceutical Industry (BAPI) was present at the opening ceremony as the chief guest and he emphasized the need for research in the field of pharmacy to address the emerging challenges in the healthcare sector. Mr. Shamim Alam Khan, Director (Marketing), UniMed UniHealth Pharmaceuticals Ltd. was present as the special guest at the inaugural session. The inaugural session was also addressed by Professor Dr. Mostafa Kamal, Dean, Academic Affairs, Professor Dr. Md. Bellal Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Allied Health Science, Professor Dr. Muniruddin Ahme, Head, Department of Pharmacy and Dr. Sharifa Sultana, Associate Head of the Department of Pharmacy of the university. 

The event featured a variety of activities, including Pharma Olympiad, scientific seminar, keynote speeches, workshops, poster presentations, sports, rally, cultural performance etc. More than 1000 participants attended the event, including students, alumni, faculty members, and industry professionals.

DIU Pharma Career Expo is one of the most eagerly awaited events of Daffodil International University that provides a fantastic forum for the exchange of innovative ideas among pharmacy students, academics, representatives of the pharmaceutical sector, and healthcare professionals. This year’s theme for World Pharmacists Day 2023 is “Pharmacy strengthening health systems” and the celebration of this occasion at the DIU premises is going to be an exciting and enriching experience, bringing together pharmaceutical professionals, students, and enthusiasts from all over Bangladesh.
