Samakal is one of the most Famous Bengali Newspaper in Bangladesh which is started publishing in 31 May, 2005. Popular journalist Golam Sarwar is the editor of Samakal till now from when it started. Recently he awarded ‘Ekushey Padak’ for his contribution in journalism.

The owner of Samakal is Times Media Limited of Ha-meem Group and Publisher is A k Azad (Abul Kalam Azad). Times Media Limited has another initiative of media.
