17th APICTA Awards Dhaka 2017 on Thursday. From Tomorrow 7 December (Thursday) OSCAR of ICT, the 17th APICTA Awards Dhaka, 2017 is going to be started. Department of ICT under ICT Division and Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS), are jointly organizing the event which will take place from 7-10 December, 2017.
Every Year Asia-Pacific ICT Alliance-APICTA is developing the ICT sector of Asia Pacific region. Besides, it recognizes potential and successful entrepreneurs, software and information technology services as well as the development of information technology sector. For the first time Bangladesh is organizing this mega event.
In the year 2015, Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) has got the membership of APICTA. In the year 2016 Bangladesh participated at the APICTA Awards held in Taipei, Taiwan. This is the first time in the history of APICTA that a member is organizing the APICTA Awards within 2 years of getting membership.
Senior Vice President of BASIS and Convenor of 17th APICTA Awards Dhaka 2017 Mr. Russell T Ahmed said, this is the first experience for Bangladesh ICT Sector to organize such an event with 400 foreign guests from 16 countries. We already have confirmed proper security, transportation, visits and all facilities for our guests, he added.
Multiple Layers of Security has been confirmed for guests with helpdesk on their perspective hotels. Shuttle Services is also there to go from one hotel to another. 100 people is working relentlessly to make this event successful and more gorgeous. Welcome Reception, Bangladesh Night, Hong Kong Night will be there for invited guests & participants. The prize giving ceremony of 17th APICTA Awards Dhaka 2017 will be held at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) on 10th December evening.
He also added that this is a great opportunity for us to showcase Bangladesh’s ICT Sector’s improvement in the international arena. Except Bangladesh, other APICTA members are Australia, Brunei Darussalam, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Macao, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, Srilanka, Thailand & Vietnam.
