Imagine; that you are alone in an elevator with business tycoon Salman F. Rahman riding down from the top floors of a 57-storied building. You have an amazing business idea and approximately 2 minutes till the elevator reaches the ground floor. What would you do? As the innovator of the next best thing you should know exactly what to say to get Mr. Rahman excited about your business in less than 2 minutes.

“Pitch2Win” (http://www.shetu.org/pitch2win.html) will help you do exactly that. It is a series of hands on workshops organized by Shetu. Hugely successful last year, this years’ event promises grandeur with the introduction of the intensive pitching mentorship sessions or “Pitch Clinic”s which will be run by mentors. Mentors list include professionals with extensive experience in business idea development who have previously pitched locally and internationally. In this event the participant will have a chance to pitch their idea, get feedback on it and receive tricks of the trade on how to make the perfect pitch. Participants will be given public speaking skills and body language traits necessary for making a lasting impression on their audience.

Eshan, a participant from last year shares “I had pitched my idea once before at Startup Weekend Dhaka. I took the same idea to pitch2win and it didn’t do well. However it gave me the courage to keep going with my idea for the last one year. I will give it another year. There is a prototype now and I hope to keep working on it. Pitch Clinic session really helped me. It gave me the right push. It helps people understand what exactly to do and how to do it.”

Registration Process:

Participation will be considered in a “first come first serve” basis and once selected for participation, each individual may register for a fee of 250tk. Those who want to observe the finale can also register with only 100tk per person.

 

Both individuals and teams of up to four members can participate in this event. New ideas for startups and existing businesses are encouraged to participate. Female participants and participants from out of Dhaka are eligible to receive a special scholarship for attending this year’s pithc2win event.

 

Winners will receive:

The first prize winner of pitch2win will receive up to 50,000 BDT in seed funding. There are also two spot for second and third prize with 25,000 BDT and 15,000 BDT in seed funding. All winners will also get a chance to attend a 16-week mentorship program with Shetu, a bootcamp for startups in Dhaka; at the completion of which they will receive the seed funding. All winners will also receive exclusive access to the hubdhaka shared office space as premium members.
