IRIB TV5 is one of the 32 television channels in Iran. It was launched on November 26, 1995 by the government. IRIB TV5 namely “channel5” is run, directed, controlled and suggested by the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting.

Its headquarter is in Tehran. The language of channel5 is Persian and picture format is SD. Its broadcast area  was only Tehran in primary stage; for this reason it had been called “Tehran channel”. As the time passes it expands broadcast area and now it covers whole Asia.

The slogan of channel5 is “A Window to Economic Possibilities”. It is a mixed channel having news bulletin and programs.

Channel5 has hourly news bulletin. It gives emphasis on economy based news focusing prosperity and development. The channel shows special talk show focusing business and economic topics. However it has some popular programs shows too.

Alexa Traffic Rank says that the global rank of channel5 is 149042 and the rank in Iran is 3698.

The viewers are mostly from Iran- 92.5%. However it has 3.2% of viewers living in USA.

The channel is found active in various social media; like- Instagram, Telegram and Linkedin.

Channel5 gives the opportunity to watch its shows on portable devices and for this it had created an app.
